Dana Brown

Pastor

Dana was born in Hamilton, raised in the Barrie area. He was educated in Toronto and Kingston. Dana has served as pastor in many churches across Canada.  He is married with two children.

Frank Skulj

Chairman of the Deacons Board

Franks parents came to Canada as refugees when he was only three years old. Lived in Wainfleet until he got married and moved to outer Thorold. Was blessed with two daughters one son and seven grandchildren. In nineteen seventy eight Frank became a Canadian citizen.

He worked at General Motors for almost thirty years in the machine repair trade. In March of 1985, he invited Jesus into his heart as Lord and Savior at Church. On April 4th 2010 Frank got baptized and became a member of Fonthill Baptist Church.

He enjoys going out with Pastor Rob to hand out cards with an invitation from the church to the Fonthill Community to learn about the gospel of Jesus.

Al Brooks

Deacon

Al Brooks was raised in Fonthill Baptists Church and has been a member for 68 years. He is a retired paramedic. Al currently lives in Welland and is serving as a deacon at Fonthill Baptist Church.

Doug Hardy

Treasurer, Trustee and Chairman of the Stewardship Division

Doug was born and raised in Fonthill and has attended Fonthill Baptist Church since birth. He is blessed to have his wife (Dinah), two children and three grandchildren. Doug grew up on a farm and enjoyed a career in engineering at John Deere.

He currently serves as Treasurer, Trustee and Chairman of the Stewardship Division. God has given Doug the necessary skills to be a good steward of God’s Church. In this capacity, he serves to provide maintenance support for the church facility and to manage the church finances.

Birgitta Weatherby

Deacon of Nurture

Birgitta grew up in a Christian family in Finland. She accepted the Lord as her Saviour as a teenager. She attended Bible College in Sweden for three years. She went to France with Operation Mobilization in 1982 where she met her husband, Rob, in the same church-planting team. They married in 1984 and have since served with OM in France, on the mission ship Doulos, as well as Finland and Canada. They have two grown children and seven grandchildren.

Birgitta enjoys reading the Bible, meeting and connecting with internationals, walking, learning new languages and playing word games.

Ron Latulippe

Deacon of Discipleship

Ron was born in Welland and grew up in this area. At the age of 21 while traveling in Europe he met some believers who led him to salvation in Jesus Christ. Ron worked with Youth With A Mission in Munich during the Olympic Games and returned to Canada to study for the ministry in Vancouver. After a few years of work and ministry, Ron returned to school to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School for a year of training.

After serving as a pastor for 12 years Ron retired. In his retirement Ron has made a number of trips overseas to train fellow pastors and now leads a small church group every Sunday morning at 9:00am. Ron is married with 2 adult believing children and 6 grandchildren and enjoys studying the Word of God and reading.

Rob Weatherby

Deacon of Outreach and Missions

Rob grew up in the Fonthill area and came to faith as a youth at Fonthill Baptist. He left the area for over 40 years for his education (Western and Acadia) and ministry as a pastor and missionary. Rob served with his Finnish-born wife, Birgitta, with “Operation Mobilization” in France, with the mission ship DOULOS, Finland and Canada since 1982. He pastored in Baptist churches in Cornwall and Sudbury and returned (semi-retired) to the Fonthill area three years ago.

They are blessed with two children and seven grandchildren. Rob enjoys reading, biking, gardening, writing, cross-country skiing and spending time with his “kulta”.
